Fall/Thanksgiving PhotoPlay Cards and More with Teresa

9 November 2023

Welcome back to our blog, crafty friends!

This week, Teresa showed us an amazing assortment of fall and Thanksgiving themed projects (cards, tags, and more!) she made with her one of her favorite stamp sets: Inside Out Thanksiving by PhotoPlay ($15.99). The “Inside Out” series is designed to work on the inside and outside of your cards! Many stamp sets are created to work EITHER on the inside OR the outside…but PhotoPlay stamps do double duty!

Thanksgiving and fall stamps have been hard to find in years past, so we’re really pleased to have some very nice options in stock right now. The Inside Out stamp can be used throughout the fall season and even all year round.

This first card is a great example of how the Inside Out stamp set can be used throughout the year. This is a great design for using a cut-apart on the front of an A2 card: By positioning it at the side, you have room to add coordinating die cut pieces made with the new Festive Gatherings die. (I just bought that one and can’t wait to use it!)

If you’ve been watching our videos over the past few months, you probably know that we are crazy for these wood houses! We carry them in three different sizes and have had so much fun decorating them for all the seasons and holidays.

To make her fall-themed house, Teresa painted it orange, inked the edges, then stenciled the front with the Acorn Lane stencil (linked above) from Simple Stories. She stamped the sentiment “Happy Fall” with the Inside Out Thanksgiving stamps, then added die cut leaves and a twine bow to finish it off. What a cute decoration for the fall!

And notice the Mini Clip Teresa attached to the text piece! Love that touch of metal!

This next card is great example of the creativity Teresa bring to all of her work! She started by stamping one of the sentiments “Happy Fall Y’All” across her card base as a border…what a fun way to use a stamp! She created the focal point “wood” heart with the Wood Slice die set then added the die cut acorn and greenery (or should I say “brownery”? teehee) to the bottom. Beautiful card!

Teresa made a sweet tag to adorn the front of one of our wine bags (linked above). This tag features images stamped with the Simple Stories Acorn Lane stamp set and colored with Tim’s Distress Watercolor Pencils. Teresa stitched a length of lace across the bottom for a bit of cozy texture. If you’d like to learn more about the way Teresa combines/groups stamps, click HERE for her blog post/demo!

If you haven’t yet purchased the We R 3-Way Diagonal Corner Punch, all of us at Memory Bound would agree that it’s a must-have tool! At just $11.99, this punch makes it super easy to turn a piece of cardstock or patterned paper into a tag in no time at all, as Teresa did for the tags she showed today. Although many of us have tag dies and use them often, you just can’t beat the convenience of this punch!

Of course, it’s also handy to have a stash of ready-made tags on hand! (Click HERE to see all of our tag options.) To make this beautiful tag, Teresa covered the entire surface in layers of Fabric Tape, then she used Archival Ink to stamp her pumpkin and sentiments over the top. I love how she incorporated three colors of ribbon into her fluffy bow to coordinate with the colors in her tag. Lovely tag, Teresa!

Awhile back, Teresa showed us how to make DIY Custom Blend Ink Pads using Distress Oxide Re-inkers. If you missed it, be sure to check it out HERE. Definitely a WOW! Teresa used her “Halloween Blend” to make this striking fall card.

The Brushstrokes stamp makes it easy to create the look of ink “swiping” across the card. Teresa die cut leaves in the same colors as her Custom Blend to tie the card together. Love it.

Teresa made these two adorable tag cards with the Snarky Cats Christmas stamps and a variety of ink and spray techniques. If you enjoy making tags, you’ll see that they work great on the front of a card!

The monochromatic winter card at the left features a stenciled background and sprayed tag created with Distress products of the same color. That’s the beauty of the Distress line: If you like a particular color, you can get it in a variety of products! On the right, Teresa used the same stamp but with a different background and color scheme to create a card for fall. This is a perfect illustration of the power of COLOR! You can get even more mileage from your stamps by simply changing your color scheme to work for a different season or occasion. Great inspiration, Teresa!

What a fun morning with Teresa! We so appreciate the creativity and inspiration she brings to every demo on MBTV. We loved learning so many ways to use the Inside Out Thanksgiving/Fall Stamps by PhotoPlay!
