Tim Holtz Style Halloween and Fall Projects with Becky Thrap

Welcome back to our blog!
This week, we welcomed back local designer extraordinaire Becky Thrap with her latest collection of projects for Halloween and fall. WOW! Becky amazes us with her incredible display pieces, cards, and other projects — all of which feature Tim Holtz products in SO MANY creative ways!

Click HERE to watch Becky’s video from Wednesday, October 12. You’ll learn so much as Becky describes each of her projects and techniques in detail!

So let’s take a look at all the amazing projects Becky brought along to share, starting with this spooky Halloween display.

Just look at all the details here! Pick a shelf and study it and the longer you look, the more you’ll see! Try to find all the eyeballs! Just incredible, Becky!

This next vignette box is a tribute to trick-or-treaters! Becky made the candy using the clear Tim Holtz Bubbles, adding color and wrapping them in plastic. And those yellow candy sticks started out black and white! Becky adds her own creative touches to every single piece!

We loved Becky’s fall acorns colored with Foundry Wax! What a fun and easy idea and just perfect for a seasonal display.

Becky also brought along some super-cool books she transformed into Halloween decor. Tim’s 3D skull embossing folder adds a scary effect to the cover! Notice how she tied on bones and charms with tinted mummy cloth. Amazing details!

Becky used some of the same techniques to transform this old book into a beautiful fall display piece.

And she gave this antique book a new life for Christmas. So special!

We loved how Becky transformed the Vignette Card File nto a vintage sewing caddy! She used ephemera to create button cards and even aged the glass domes which hold old trinkets. Becky went through all the elements of this display with us and we loved every minute of it!

Becky also brought along an ephemera storage binder she recently made. We love the ring-bound format! Click HERE for a blog post about Diane’s ephemera books which inspired Becky’s!

What a fun ephemera cluster on the front cover. There can be no doubt about what’s inside this book! 🙂

Becky attached vellum strips with Scor-Tape to create pockets, sized perfectly for the ephemera in her stash.

Next Becky showed us the many creative ways she’s been inspired by 3D embossing folders. Check out these skulls…and those teeth!

The tree ring embossing folder makes a great background and foundation for all kinds of projects!

And look at all the different effects Becky achieved with the Acorn 3D embossing folder. In the video, Becky shared how she created each one. So beautiful!

We loved this part of Becky’s video! She shared how this card front is transformed from start to finish.

Becky created two beautifully different card fronts using the Pine Branches 3D Embossing Folder. They look like real vintage cards!

Thanks so much to Becky for stopping by again with so many wonderful projects! We were so inspired to see the many, many ways she uses Tim Holtz products to create unique projects to share and display throughout the seasons.
